In the context of the Blue Bioeconomy Forum, a webinar on financing the blue bioeconomy will take place on the 18th September 2019 from 10.00 – 11.30 CEST. The objective of the event is to discuss strategic issues related to financing of the blue bioeconomy but also in concrete opportunities for financing blue bioeconomy projects.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear the latest development of the blue bioeconomy roadmap with a focus on its section on financing the blue bioeconomy.
They will also hear about Bio-Based Industry Joint Undertaking (BBI-JU) and the upcoming funding opportunities from BBI JU Project Officer Thomas Vizykas, who will give the presentation "From algae to fisheries side-streams: an integrated project portfolio and upcoming funding opportunities". During the webinar there will be possibilities to ask questions.
The Blue Bioeconomy Forum is the initiative of the European Commission. It brings together a partnership of industry, public authorities, academia, and finance in order to strengthen Europe's competitive position in the emerging blue bioeconomy.
The aim of the forum is to develop a shared understanding of the current status of the emerging blue bioeconomy in Europe and to collectively identify strategic developments, market opportunities, appropriate financial assistance, regulatory actions and research priorities to advance the blue bioeconomy in Europe.
