EWRC - European Week of Regions and Cities | Belgium

10 October 2016 to 13 October 2016
Committee of the Regions, Brussels

The European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC), previously known as Open Days, is an annual four-day event during which organisations, cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy and prove the importance of the local and regional level for the development of the European Union.

The event welcomes around 6.000 participants each year (local, regional, national and European decision-makers and experts) for more than 100 workshops and debates, exhbitions and networking opportunities.

BBI JU, alongside with other JUs and regions, will run a panel about 'Enhance Regional Innovation and Growth: possibilities for integrated funding through regional cooperation with Joint Undertakings (JUs)', which will discuss how to boost innovation and growth in the regions, through synergies between different funding mechanisms such as the ESIF and the Horizon 2020 programme. This panel will be held in the Committee of the Regions, Van Maerlant building, Room 1, on 11 October 2016, from 14.30 to 17.00. A networking session is set to immediately follow the panel discussion.
