The European Ideas Network, think tank of the Group of the European People's Party in the European Parliament, will host a seminar on "Investing on Education and Innovation", on 11-12 October in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The digital evolution has led to permanent changes in our societies, both socially and economically, shaping our daily lives as well as the different sectors of activity. It is important to adapt to this new reality and take advantage of the best that these changes have to offer. Nowadays, it is crucial to talk about how it is possible to integrate innovation and digital technologies in the current Educational systems, especially since we are shaping the generations that will become the next work force in the upcoming years.
The framework of the digital economy and society is one of the top priorities of the European Commission. Thus, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is setting a Plan of Action on how education and training systems can make better use of innovation and digital technology by supporting the development of digital competences.
Will we ever be ready to let go the traditional educational systems and embrace these great added value changes? How can the EU promote a better framework for innovative educational projects to flourish among our schools and universities and shape teaching methods accordingly to this new reality?
Kleopatra Sidiropoulou, BBI JU's Executive and Public Affairs Assistant, will participate in the event and speak during a panel on "Increasing digital innovation".
