The EFIB 2017 event taking place in Brussels between 9-11 October brings together attendees coming from leading companies from throughout the bio-based value chain, including 100 speakers.
The BBI JU shared a stand with Bio-based Industries Consortium and spent two days at the exhibition meeting stakeholders and explaining the programme's mission objectoves and projects.
In addition Executive Director, Philippe Mengal took part in Day 2 under the Finance & Investment track. In a session chaired with by Marcel van Berkel, CEO of VanBerkel Consultancy, Mr Mengal presented the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking:setting the cornerstone for the bio-based industries in the EU.
During the event, brands including IKEA, P&G, PSA Group (Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles), Unilever and Vegware, shared how the supply chain can create more dynamic markets for bio-based by exploring the B2C challenges and opportunities. 25 presenters across 2 days from 12 countries showcased innovation in bio-based development, including the latest in biochemicals, synthetic biology, and biorefinery scale-up, in the ever popular Innovation Track.
Attendees created their own agenda with 6 different tracks, high-profile plenary sessions, 2 pre-event workshops and pre-event site visits.
