Every year, the European circular economy community from businesses, public authorities, NGOs and civil society organisations gathers to discuss the transition to a circular economy. This is the flagship event of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
The first day of the conference, hosted by the European Commission, will tackle the new EU Circular Economy Action Plan and its implementation. The potential of the circular economy for a green recovery will also be covered in the sessions.
The second day, hosted by the EESC, will focus on stakeholder views in a series of online workshops highlighting successes and identifying new challenges. Eight workshops will cover circular themes ranging from construction to food waste to procurement and roadmapping.
Virginia Puzzolo, Head of the Programme Unit in BBI JU , will participate in the webinar 'R&I in circular economy and bio-based systems: opportunities for circular economy stakeholders' taking place on 4 November from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (CEST).
Organised by the European Commission's DG Research and Innovation, it will provide circular economy stakeholders with practical insights into current and future funding opportunities in the fields of research and innovation. Topics of discussion include the recently launched European Green Deal call, the Circular Cities and Regions initiative, the next Horizon Europe Framework Programme, other financial instruments, and success stories from EU-funded projects.
