The workshop aims to enhance the capacities of researchers and businesses to engage in effective R&I activities and cooperation in order to support the development of regional and local bio-based economies. Participants will discuss how to

  • Find sources for international funding and understand their requirements
  • Access such funding sources, including project proposal writing (focus on Horizon Europe)
  • Search for partners
  • Overcome hesitations to undertake international research and innovation initiatives

The event is dedicated to early career researchers and research-oriented SMEs within the bioeconomy field located in the five innovation regions of the BE-Rural project (Vidzeme and Kurzeme in Latvia, Szczecin and Vistula Lagoons in Poland, Covasna in Romania, Stara Zagora in Bulgaria, and Strumica in North Macedonia).

BBI JU Project Officer Ana Cuadrado will participate in the workshop and present BBI JU-funded projects that have already been implemented in these countries, as well as the main actors involved.
